The NHI Center is a 501(c)(3) organization that develops strategies and programs to ensure easy access to free and cost-effective innovative educational resources for underserved public school students, as well as the United States Department of Defense's nationwide STARBASE Program.
The United States needs individuals and companies to fill critical staffing and technology gaps, which the NHI Center will address through its programs. By utilizing resources and working with trained experts, students can harness their curiosity, tackle challenges, and develop solutions.
Program content was leveraged by utilizing publicly available course curricula from AHT Resins’ https://AHTRO.com). This platform integrates advanced technologies, such as the Bambu Lab P1S Printer Kit, designed for middle school students, as well as the Chompshop Kit for elementary grades, along with other kits.
Additionally, the MIT Beaver Works Summer Institute (https://bwsi.mit.edu) and the Autonomous RACECAR (MIT-designed Rapid Autonomous Complex Environment Competing Ackermann Steering) Course are available for 9th and 10th graders.
The student teams will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of research in science and engineering, learn to collaborate, and showcase their quick skills.
The programs and courses are designed for independent learning, whether at home with parental support or in a student-led collaborative setting, with an emphasis on team-based learning. Both elements are vital for innovation.
The program aims to inspire inventors of dual-purpose technologies, potentially leading to the development of the next generation of national defense and surveillance systems.
